Developed in Germany, and already in use on a number of UK sites, infor:PLASTICS is a completely integrated order processing, financial and manufacturing management system. Job management and labour bookings within the tool shop are integrated into the main manufacturing control system.

Association between parts and tools allows production planning to take account of tool availability and set up times.

Works orders are raised on the tool shop for set up and clean down operations, and planned maintenance can be scheduled against batch sizes and number of shots.

Tool costs, material costs and operator costs can then be rolled up together for a complete view of profitability on each run.

Tool groups, multi-part tools and inserts are all accommodated.

infor:PLASTICS also includes a dedicated settings database which records settings against each tool, machine, part and batch.

Multi-impression moulds, family parts and scrap re-grind are accounted for.

The system can also be set for extrusion-mode.

APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) checks the actual availability of materials, machines, tools and staff before setting a planned delivery date.

Subsequent adjustments can be made on the graphic scheduling board, and the effects on delivery time reflected to sales infor:swan is the UK division of infor: business solutions AG.
